    Project Details
    • Screen for irregularities through Pap smear and breast ultrasonography
    • Women 30 years old or older, married women and women who engage in sexual activities may undergo screening.
    • Further impose screening to women who have not undergone the process for at least three years.
    • Encourage residents to undergo screening through outpatient clinic and mobile medical services.
    • Promote activities through local churches
    • Promote screening activities in communities and during dental clinic hours.
    Procedures
    • Every month, a Kaohsiung Hospital attending physician comes to the Health Station to provide examination services.
    • Set schedule and inform residents of examination services within the community
    • Promote activities through village chiefs, community chiefs, churches and broadcast.
    • Nurses follow-up local positive cases for treatment
    • The public brings home a screening kit, and come back for outpatient clinic examination.
    • Monthly screening stations.
    • Inform public of dental clinic hours through the village chiefs.

    (II) Blood pressure, blood sugar, blood cholesterol screening
    Project Details
    • Screening services for persons 40 years old or older.
    • 64 persons underwent screening
    • Suspected irregularities include: blood pressure > 135/85mmhg; AC Sugar > 110; cholesterol > 240.
    • Follow-up of suspected irregularities
    Procedures
    • Provide blood tests along with promotional activities.
    • Provide blood pressure and blood tests along with mobile x-ray examinations.

    (III) Pulmonary Tuberculosis Prevention And Control
    Project Details
    • Discover irregular cases through x-ray tests.
    • Screening services for persons 40 years old or older.
    • Reinforce screening of contacts.
    • Reinforce promotion of home visiting and health education.
    Procedures
    • The Health Station provides routine mobile x-ray tests every half year (sponsored by the CDC).
    • Promote activities through village chiefs and local churches.
    • "Campus Tuberculosis" prevention and treatment

    (IV) Bacillary Dysentery
    1. Campus disease control mobile teams
    Project Detail
    • Comprehensive disease prevention health education; communicable diseases (bacillary dysentery) health education activities.
    • After the class, the Department of Health holds a disease prevention creativity contest. Each school picks its own team, and the winners receive cash and prizes.
    Procedures
    • Each school presents the spirit of disease prevention in their performances.
    • Three mountain area elementary schools, junior high schools and kindergartens will be competing at the Kaohsiung County Government

    Procedures
    • Local first aid training and recreational activities (sponsored by the Health Station and Kaohsiung Medical University ), in an effort to further enhance the knowledge and ability of medical personnel.
    • First aid training re-training; health promotion (sponsored by the Health Station).
    • Request volunteer assistance in implementing the alcohol drinking survey

    (VIII) Aborigine Health Promotion Project – Survey Of Factors Affecting Aboriginal Drinking Habits
    Project Details
    • Alcohol drinking information
    • Blood uric acid level, cholesterol and liver function
    • Metabolism influenced by alcohol drinking; variation of addiction genes
    Procedures
    • Handpick 50 persons with drinking problems for the quitting program, and another 40 persons who never drink.
    • Participants must undergo health examination before participating.
    • Alcohol withdrawal training twice a week.
    • Undergo another examination after alcohol withdrawal training.

    (IX) Tobacco Hazards Control Project
    Project Details
    • Promote smoke-free households and no-smoking day promotional activities
    • Talent shows
    • Set up teams within campus
    Procedures
    • Sanmin Junior High School is sponsoring the wallpaper design content and its promotional activities.
    • Establish anti-smoking campaigns.
    • Smoke-free household and no-smoking day activities will be held at the Minchuan activities center basketball court
